Abstract

The authors have investigated the possibility of using neuraxial analgesia techniques in treatment of acute pancreatitis in elderly patients. Analysis of clinical effectiveness is based on visual rating scale data and endotoxemia indicator dynamics. Retroplueral analgesia is most effective in cases of swollen and uncomplicated forms of acute pancreatitis and contraindications to epidural analgesia. Epidural an-algesia is an obligatory component in destructive forms of acute pancreatitis.

Key words

acute pancreatitis, elderly patients, retropleural analgesia, retropleural analgesia, epidural analgesia, verbal rating scale.
